Founder's Bio
At the age of 54 and with a job that took me to the peak of my career, I found my work life empty. I was an Executive Assistant to a Senior Vice President in one of the largest communication companies in the world and still...something was missing.
I became an avid racquetball player and marathon runner to kick a 20-year smoking habit and it worked! Then on my lunch hours, I just couldn't stay away from those kickboxing and spinning classes so I got this crazy idea of going back to school and becoming a Personal Trainer…and I did. It was the BEST move of my life!
I love working with people and get such a personal fulfillment in helping them reach their fitness goals. This is where I belong!
In 2002, I attended the National Personal Training Institute in Illinois and after a few short months of training, my instructor asked me to take over her position at the local Park District teaching a Women’s Weight Training Class which I ended up instructing for 2 years. When I graduated, I went to work for a Chicago Based Boot Camp Company, which I eventually brought to the Park District in Illinois. In addition, I worked at Northwestern Community Hospital Wellness Center as a Personal Trainer for a year.
We moved to Arizona in the fall of 2005 and I went to work for a privately owned fitness facility in Scottsdale, where I personal trained a variety of people and taught Boot Camp and Spinning classes. I also taught spin classes at Just Breathe Wellness Center and taught Pilates at the South Mountain Community College for a year.
The drive to Scottsdale was wearing on me so I decided to give Laveen something exciting…a Boot Camp Class! I am so happy that people in the area find these classes fun and fulfilling…I truly enjoy teaching them and it makes me happy knowing everyone goes home with a smile on their face and sweat on their brow!
I would like to extend a sincere thanks to everyone who has attended my classes and also to the “newbees” entering my classes. I strive to make each session hard working, exhilarating and most of all fun. And remember…THERE’S NO SUCH WORD AS CAN’T!!!
Keep on Kickin Boo-Tay!!! HOOOOO HAAAAA!!!!
